I've mentioned cashback sites before, but with the holidays coming up, I wanted to remind you that you can earn a little bit of a 'rebate' on all your online purchases! I ended up with over $75 in checks from cashback sites from my holiday shopping last year. Think of it as an extra coupon on top of your savings!
I'm going to focus on Ebates today, as their kicking off their Oktoberfest month of savings, with lots of double cash back opportunities. So let's walk through some purchases, assuming you made some purchases based on recent blog posts (didn't you?).
Go here (or use the link on the right) to sign up for Ebates.
Go to the website and search for the store you're shopping at, and click "Shop Now" on that store's page. The link will open a new window, taking you directly to that website where you can shop your heart out.
So let's say you picked up some shoes at The Great Shoe Sale at Macy's, and grabbed three pairs so you could get free shipping. Ebates is currently at 12% cashback, so if you spent $105 on three pairs of shoes and went through Ebates, you just earned $12.60 back in cash back!
Then yesterday, you grabbed two $13 items from the 6pm.com 10-11-12-$13 sale. You spent $26, and if you went through Ebates you would have earned 3.5% back. That's another $0.91.
Picked up a new purse on the Tory Burch sale for your best friend? Let's say you got a wallet at 25% - so marked down to $150. Cashback here is also 3.5% so you would receive $5.25 back.
So for your little shopping spree, you'd have almost $19 back just for adding a few clicks.
If you're still with me after reading this novel, here's how it works: You accumulate cashback and are paid out every 3 months via PayPal or check. I believe you should get a $5 bonus upon signing up, and you have to have a minimum of $5 to cash out.
There's really nothing else to it. Super easy, and a pleasant little surprise in February to get some spending money back after being broke during the holidays :)
