If you're reading this, I'm assuming that you shop online. And if you're shopping online and
not using a cashback site - you're losing money. If you're not familiar with how they work, read on and I'll break down two of the most popular sites.
Cashback sites are
free to sign up and all you have to do is go to their website, find the store you're shopping at, click through to the shopping site from the cashback site... and you're earning money. Different sites have different cashback amounts for online stores and will often offer incentives, double cashback, etc. to get you to use their site. The two listed below are fairly different which is why I'm comparing them for you.
Ebates
Ebates tends to offer lower cashback percentages on an average day. They do, however, often run promotions with double cashback and offer a $5 bonus upon signing up. The minimum to cash out is lower than other sites ($5.01) but they only pay out quarterly. You do have the option of PayPal or a check with Ebates. Alternatively, you can donate your cashback to a charity. Ebates also offers cashback on eBay, which is not common.

Shopathome
Shopathome offers higher cashback percentages, but they have more restrictions. You can only use a coupon code that is listed on their site - so if you're using a one time code or something simliar, your cashback may not go through. Their cashout minimum is higher ($20) but they pay out monthly so you receive a check more often. They will mail you a check automatically when your cashback has met the minimum at the end of the month.

Overall, please read the fine print before using either site. Often, cashback is not given for the purchase of gift cards and other exceptions. Compare both sites before making a purchase to make sure you're getting the best percentage back that you can. And sign up for emails so you know when double cashback promotions are running so you can take advantage. When stores have big sales (Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, for example), cashback sites tend to offer promotions that correspond.
Also, even if you're not interested in cashback sites right now - keep them in mind for the holiday season. I got over $100 in cashback last year because I made most of my Christmas purchases online - starting with Black Friday. It's a great bonus for all your online bargain hunting!
Happy shopping!
